Who Needs Champion Hospice Care?

Anyone of any age with a life limiting illness that if the disease takes its natural course has a prognosis of six (6) months or less to live.

When Is It Time To Call?

The time to call is when curative measures are no longer effective or desired by a patient.  When a patient’s life is impacted on a daily basis where one cannot thrive and does not want to seek aggressive treatment.

Hospice Care is best when there is enough time to experience all of the benefits of Hospice Care. The patient’s care is best when symptoms may be managed and life may be spent with dignity and comfort.

Is Hospice a Death Sentence?

There is a time for us all to pass on.  With Hospice, a Physician has certified that a patient has six months or less to live and aggressive treatments are no longer purposeful in prolonging the patient’s life.  Champion Hospice does not prolong life, but it makes the patient comfortable.

Palliative measures providing symptom relief such as nausea, anxiety, fatigue, shortness of breath, etc. to persons who are experiencing serious multi-symptom decline (often known as “failure to thrive”) can experience improvement and be discharged from hospice care and return to regular medical care.  When their Physician feels the time is appropriate again for Hospice, the patient may be recertified and return to Palliative Care.

It is always best to have Hospice Care as early as the patient decides to not seek aggressive treatment and is certifiable by their Physician to receive the exceptional care and benefits from Hospice.
